At Äppelgården in Kimstad, we are looking for you who want to work day/evening at our residence for young people. Here you will use your knowledge, your security, and your commitment to create stable and meaningful days for our girls aged 15–19 years.

About the position

As an employee with us, you will work closely with young people with neuropsychiatric disabilities and/or social behavioral issues. You help them succeed in life through clarity, predictability, relationship-building work, and tailored support.

You will be an important part of creating security, routines, and a calm environment – both in their daily lives and in the living environment.

Your main responsibilities

• Support young people in routines, activities, and care situations every day of the week.
• Create safe, stable relationships and work in a low-arousal manner during challenging behaviors.
• Provide structure and clarity based on a neuropsychiatric adapted approach.
• Document according to current guidelines and collaborate with social services, schools, and internal functions.
• Plan and implement activities, school support, and daily structure.

Requirements for the position

• Post-secondary education: treatment pedagogue, social pedagogue, behavioral scientist, social worker, or support pedagogue.
• Experience working with the target group.
• Driver's license and driving experience.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good communication skills and confidence in handling challenging behaviors and emotions, stress, and changing situations.

Meritorious

• Experience with neuropsychiatric disabilities and low-arousal responses.
• Experience working with young people with extensive needs.
• Experience with animal-assisted interventions, such as horse-assisted activities.
